1/2 c granulated sugar(plus extra for coating)
3/4 c brown sugar
1/2 c molasses
1 tsp vanilla
2 large eggs
2 1/2 c all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground allspice
Directions:
(preheat oven to 350 degrees)
Cream butter, brown sugar and white sugar until light and fluffy. Add molasses, vanilla and eggs. Then add the rest of the dry ingredients, and mix at low speed until combined.
Form dough into 1-2 inch balls. Roll balls in sugar to coat place at least 4 inches apart on prepared baking sheets. Flatten slightly.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
These can also be made jumbo, coffee shop style!

mmm I love ginger cookies and if they're chewy - all the better! :)
I've been looking for a better recipe! Thanks. What an adorable dress! I don't think I had anything that cute when I was little.
